Dubbed as the 'Sunshine Industry of India', the BPO industry is presently the fastest growing industry in India.
The BPO industry is a subset of the much talked about ITES, or the IT Enabled Services. India has emerged as
one of the most preferred destinations for outsourcing since we have a huge population base of English speaking
computer literate people. One of the biggest components of the BPO industry is the voice-based customer support
solution, popularly known as 'Call Centre'. Call Centres account for almost 90% of the ITES jobs in India.
The ITES industry presently recruits over one lakh people every year and it is projected that by the year 2012,
there will be over 4 lakhs people employed in this industry.
To work in an ITES company in a back office job, one should be computer literate with exposure to data manipulation,
data conversion and database management techniques. To work for a Call Centre as a voice based support executive,
one should be computer literate with excellent verbal communication skill in accent-neutral English. In addition,
one should have the relevant academic / technical skills to work for a skill specific outsourcing company. E.g.,
to work for an LPO firm, one should ideally be a law graduate.
NIPS EDUCATION indigenous BPO course prepares the students for a wide array of job opportunities, both in the
Call Centres as well as in the Back Office. Aptly supported by the Placement Cell, this course has emerged
to be one of the most popular courses of NIPS EDUCATION.
